Model Hanne Gaby announced on USA Today that she is intersex because she wants to fight intolerance and ignorance. It happens in about 2% of the population and Hanne has dedicated herself to help end abuse.

Fifth Harmony Member Comes Out

Fifth Harmony's Lauren Juaregui has come out as bi-sexual Cuban-American woman in a letter to everyone who voted for Trump.  Here's a small taste:
"Apart from how selfish that is, it is so very un-CHRIST-like, because your God is watching and He knows your hearts and He is aware of the true reason you chose such a human to run the most powerful country in the world, and I promise you the God that I have come to know and love is intolerant of judgment and hatred. And I know this because I was raised Roman Catholic in a Latin household and went to private Catholic school my whole life so I have studied WAY more than most of you have studied the religion or the Bible for that matter. The ONLY reason is your inability to accept the growing world around you. You chose hatred...I am a bisexual Cuban-American woman and I am so proud of it. I am proud to be part of a community that only projects love and education and the support of one another."

Nico Tortorella Comes Out

Nico Tororella is one gorgeous man and is on the TV show Younger.  He has just publicly come out as sexually fluid.  He follows in the footsteps of Miley Cyrus and I'm glad they feel comfortable enough to do this.  I love the idea of being sexually fluid and not having to identify as straight, gay or whatever.  Hopefully this catches on.

Coeur De Pirate Comes Out

Beatrice Martin aka Coeur De Pirate, is an amazing singer from Montreal.  She was deeply disturbed by the Orlando shooting and decided to officially come out.  She writes a beautiful letter that talks about being rejected by a girl and deciding to try and be heterosexual.  She married in 2012 and after the birth of her child she could no longer live like a fraud.  These types of stories are so important.
"I'm coming out for my daughter who needs to learn that love knows no race, religion, gender or orientation... I'm coming out for the victims that lost their lives because they wanted to celebrate who they truly were".

Miley Cyrus Comes Out

Miley Cyrus has come out but doesn't want anyone to label her sexuality.  I don't blame her and I'm glad she tells the world how she sees it.
I’m not hiding my sexuality. For me, I don’t want to label myself as anything. We love putting people in categories, but what I like sexually isn’t going to label me as a person. There are times in my life where I’ve had boyfriends or girlfriends. And there are times where I just love being with myself and don’t want to give part of myself away to someone else.

Jussie Smollett Talks To Ellen About Coming Out

Jussie Smollett's character on Empire came out on the show and thus created a whirlwind in the media about his own sexuality.  I love the class he shows with his response to Ellen.  No one should be forced to react in a way that they are not comfortable with.

Latino Supermodel Comes Out

The gorgeous Patricia Velasques has come out as a lesbian and she says she did it for her daughter.
It’s very difficult to face your past, so I put off doing anything like this for a long time. But as my daughter started growing up and I was teaching her to be honest and proud, I knew it was time for me to set an example — and that meant facing my truth. For me, living life with truth and honesty is the one thing I want to make sure she understands.

Twins Who Came Out On YouTube Meet Ellen

Austin and Aaron Rhodes video of them coming out to their father has been viewed on YouTube over 15 million times.  Ellen had them on her show and it's inspirational for anyone struggling to come out. Their father Rodney Rhodes, shared his feelings and reactions to his twin sons coming out:
When they called I knew they were crying and I knew something was wrong. As a father you just feel it. What's wrong? I could hear it coming from them, their voices. When they told me, I just felt as though, the only thing that came to me was I love you both. I love you both unconditionally. You're my children. I can't undo being your father and I don't want to. I really feel like now there's a weight off both sides. Now I feel like we can talk about anything, that they can come to me with anything in their lives. I was very proud of my boys.

Sam Smith Talks To Ellen About Coming Out

I think it is so important that this type of dialogue is on day time television.  The more openly we can talk about coming out, the less people will have to suffer in silence.  Thank you Ellen for taking us one step closer to equality.

MLB Ump Comes Out

Umpires never make the news unless they throw someone out of the game or make a questionable call.  That being said, even if they make the news I doubt anyone could name a single umpire in the league.  Dale Scott has changed this by being in the spotlight for coming out as gay.  He has been officiating major league baseball for 29 years and decided to come out during an interview about his life.
My thought process was is that there’s a story about my career and how I got started in umpiring, and they’re talking to people I have known since junior high, and it didn’t seem right to have a whole story and pictures without a picture of Mike and I, someone who’s been with me through this entire process.

Chris Rock On Who Had Harder Time Coming Out

Here is Chris Rock's take on who had the harder time coming out between Tim Cook and Michael Sam.  I'm not sure I agree with him but he makes some valid points on asked if it was harder for Tim Cook:
Which I think is actually bigger than the football player. Because the average person in that locker room is in his 20s. And it’s just not a big deal to be around a gay guy — if you’re in your 20s. Whereas Tim Cook is around these corporate guys. That is the epitome of a boys’ club. That is sexist, racist — the least inclusive group of people you’re ever going to find. Men who have no problem being called owners. Who actually wants to be called an owner, even if you owned a football team? Just the title owner is just so nasty and disgusting…So Tim Cook came out to those guys. He’s in that club. My God.

Country Music Singer Comes Out

Billy Gilman is the second male country artist to come out.  The first was Ty Herndon and he came out not too long ago.  It is an incredibly hard industry to break into for queer artists and you can see his struggle in this video.  Something I didn't realize was that Billy was the youngest singer to land a top 40 hit at age 11 back in 2000 for his song 'The Voice".  I really hope he has success in the future and that people look beyond who he loves and focus on his music.  I know, I dream pretty big.

Rob Kearney is currently ranked second in the world as a middleweight professional strongman.  Last month he announced on Facebook that he is happily dating another man named Joey Alexio. Using the hashtag #ManCrushMonday, he thanked Joey for giving him a reason to smile. "So I guess this is me coming out and saying...I'm gay!!".  Great way to come out and by the sounds of it, most comments have been positive and supportive.

Sherlock Actor Never Had to Come Out

Andrew Scott is from the show Sherlock and in an interview with Attitude Magazine he states he never had to come out publicly.
No. I never really have. I never didn’t speak about it. It’s really important to find out who you are before you have success, because there’s really a rush now for actors to get as famous as possible as quickly as possible and so it was really important for me, in the first ten years of my career just to get to know myself and work hard. I’m glad in a sense that I wasn’t a commodity, because when people start to look at you and scrutinise you in a way that they didn’t before – it’s important you know who they are looking at it. You need to know and accept who you are.

Christian Singer Comes Out

British Christian singer Vicky Beeching has come out as a lesbian.  I think this is a very bold move for her being that Christianity hasn't always been our biggest fans.  I hope this helps her career so more barriers can be taken down for queer artists.  Just because you're gay doesn't mean you can't love or be loved by God.  Here is why she decided to come out:
Realising that I was attracted to women was a horrible feeling. I was so embarrassed and ashamed. It became more and more of a struggle because I couldn’t tell anyone. I increasingly began to feel like I was living behind an invisible wall. The inner secrecy of holding that inside was divorcing me from reality – I was living in my own head. Anybody I was in a friendship with, or anything I was doing in the church, was accompanied by an internal mantra: ‘What if they knew?’ It felt like all of my relationships were built on this ice that would break if I stepped out on to it.
