A few years ago with the Bush administration I thought the USA was never going to move forward but Obama has created hope and inspired so many people. That being said, Go Team Canada!!

Obama Makes June Pride Month
LGBT Americans have enriched and strengthened the fabric of our national life. From business leaders and professors to athletes and first responders, LGBT individuals have achieved success and prominence in every discipline. They are our mothers and fathers, our sons and daughters, and our friends and neighbors. Across my Administration, openly LGBT employees are serving at every level….
I, BARACK OBAMA, President of the United States of America, by virtue of the authority vested in me by the Constitution and the laws of the United States, do hereby proclaim June 2010 as Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender Pride Month.

Obama Cancels Meeting with Putin
I've been very clear that when it comes to universal rights, when it comes to people's basic freedoms, that whether you're discriminating on the basis of race, religion, gender, or sexual orientation, you are violating the basic morality that I think should transcend every country," Obama said. "I have no patience for countries that try to treat gays or lesbians or transgender persons in ways that intimidate them or are harmful to them. Now, what's happening to them in Russia is not unique. When I traveled to Africa, there were some countries who are doing a lot of good things for their people, who are working with them on development issues, but in some cases they persecute gays and lesbians. It makes for some uncomfortable press conferences sometimes. But one of the things that I think is more important for me to speak out on is making sure that people are treated fairly and justly, because that's what we stand for, and I think that's a precept that's not unique to America, that's something that should apply everywhere.

Obama Includes Gays in Inauguration Speech
Our journey is not complete until our gay brothers and sisters are treated like anyone else under the law — for if we are truly created equal, then surely the love we commit to one another must be equal as well

Obama Pride: LGBT Americans for Obama
Jane Lynch, Jesse Tyler Ferguson, Billie Jean King, George Takei, Wanda Sykes, Zachary Quinto, and Chaz Bono share why they're supporting President Obama and why Mitt Romney isn't the choice for them. It gives me shivers to think how far the United States has come and how quickly that can all change. If you are eligible, please vote.

Jay Z Supports Obama

Jay-Z has spoken out in support of Obama's stance on equality. I love him. Well, I think he's runner up to his gorgeous wife.....
I've always thought it as something that was still, um, holding the country back. What people do in their own homes is their business and you can choose to love whoever you love. That's their business. It is no different than discriminating against blacks. It's discrimination plain and simple.

Bristol Palin Bashes Obama
I can't stand the Palin family and Bristol Palin is no exception. For someone who is a single mother she is very quick to cast her uptight 'family' morals on everyone else. During Obama's speech supporting gay marriage he uses his daughters as examples of acceptance. Bristol has the nerve to say his daughters have watched "one too many episodes of Glee". Wow, she looks like an idiot. No doubt this is only to help promote an upcoming reality show.

Obama Fails Same Sex Couples on the Federal Level.
Obama's promise to protect gay rights seems to be total bullshit. The New York Times wrote this brilliant article regarding the Defense of Marriage Act. I'll include a small excerpt to get to a point about how Obama is not simply saying that individual states and not the Federal Government should define marriage, but actually denying same sex couples' rights on a federal level:Under the act, same-sex married couples who pay their taxes are ineligible for the sort of federal benefits — such as Social Security survivors’ payments and joint tax returns — that heterosexual married couples receive. The full editorial is well worth reading. (Click here.) Please, Obama, step up and defend the rights of all your country's citizens.

Obama Talks About Gay Rights

Barack Obama did an interview with Philadelphia Gay News discussing his commitment to gay rights issues in the US. This looks much better than the stuff that we were hearing earlier. Obama discuses a variety of rights issues here sometimes being vague, but often being quite committed to our cause. Here's hoping he means what he says. Or implies.

Obama Lets Us Down

Barack Obama is "reluctant" about his promises regarding gay rights. Having promised to do away with the military "don't ask, don't tell" rule, he is now saying he wants to go slowly when removing the barrier to open queers.
In an interview with Mark Segal of the Philadelphia Gay News, Barack Obama indicated that he would not proceed unilaterally in fulfilling his promise to do away with the "don't ask, don't tell" policy for gays in the military.
Instead, the Democratic presidential candidate said that he would work through a step-by-step process with the military brass.
"The reason," Obama said, "is because I want to make sure that when we revert 'don't ask, don't tell,' it's gone through a process and we've built a consensus or at least a clarity of that, of what my expectations are, so that it works."
He is also hesitating on same sex marriage.Obama also said he would be reluctant to instruct his attorney general to go to court to try to overturn the 1996 Defense of Marriage Act, which denies federal recognition of same-sex marriages and gives states the right not to recognize such unions.
"I think we're going to have to take a different approach," he said, "but I am absolutely committed to the concept [that] it is not necessary." He said he would prefer to see Congress change the law.
Come on, Obama, don't let us down already!keep reading
