Snoop Dog Disappointing

Snoop Dog has made some ignorant comments about Frank Ocean being out in the music world.  Sadly, I think it just shows how uneducated and ignorant he truly is.  It bothers me that some people will read his comments and think he's got a point.  I'm not angry, just disappointed.

Frank Ocean ain't no rapper. He's a singer. It's acceptable in the singing world, but in the rap world I don't know if it will ever be acceptable because rap is so masculine. It's like a football team. You can't be in a locker room full of motherfucking tough-ass dudes, then all of a sudden say, 'Hey, man, I like you.' You know, that's going to be tough. I don't have a problem with gay people. I got some gay homies. Yeah, for real. People who were gay used to get beat up. It was cool to beat up on gay people back then. But in the '90s and 2000s, gay is a way of life. Just regular people with jobs. Now they are accepted, not classified. They just went through the same things we went through as black.

Frank Ocean Being a Bad Boy

Frank Ocean has had an amazing year but he may have been celebrating a bit too much. He was pulled over in California for going 90 mph in a 65 mph zone. Not so bad....but then the cops smelled pot.  He was charged for marijuana possession, plus he was driving on an already suspended license, and for tinted windows.  Yikes, I guess if you are going to screw up go hard or go home.

Frank Ocean Comes Out

Frank Ocean has come out and it is a very big deal. Even mentioning that a rapper may be queer has ruined careers in the past. Being the lady killer seems to be the only image that is allowed to be portrayed. Ocean is a member of the Odd Future hip-hop collective, whose rappers have been known to throw out anti-gay slurs and are extremely rough. His label is openly accepting him and the repsonses from his peers seem to be positive, for the most part.
