Ellen is such an incredible role model and sometimes I forget how hard she had to work to get where she is today. She came out publicly on her tv show and it was considered career suicide. No one could have imagined how far she would go. In her acceptance speech she encourages everyone to embrace their difference and acknowledges her 7 year wedding anniversary with Portia. Life is good for Ellen and I couldn't be happier for her.
