Ellen & Portia Discuss Baby Rumors

Portia was on Ellen's show and they addressed all the baby rumours in the tabloids.  It's crazy how the media has taken one thing and run with it, regardless if it's true or not.

Ellen and Portia Aren't Having a Baby

According to Ellen's newest book, the couple have no baby plans in the works and anyone who says otherwise is making stuff up, since their place is already full of glass and animals. In her third book, Seriously...I'm Kidding, DeGeneres writes:

"People are constantly asking Portia and me if we are going to have children. We thought about it. We love to be around children after they've been fed and bathed. But we ultimately decided that we don't want children of our own. There is far too much glass in our house. ... We have two dogs, Mabel and Wolf, and three cats at home, Charlie, George and Chairman. We have two cats on our farm, Tom and Little Sister, two horses, and two mini horses, Hannah and Tricky. We also have two cows, Holy and Madonna. And those are only the animals we let sleep in our bed."

While I understand and support their decision, I can't help but think that they would be cool mothers with incredibly fashionable children. Ah, well.

Neil Patrick Harris is Trying for a Baby!

Neil Patrick Harris and his partner David Burkta are trying to get pregnant. (Insert all sorts of sick jokes here.) According to Star, the couple is currently selecting a surrogate through Growing Generations, the L.A. agency Matthew Broderick and Sarah Jessica Parker recently used.

After going through a rigorous screening process, “Neil and David were so relieved and excited once they were approved,” says the source. “Now they have so many surrogate profiles to go through to find the right woman to carry their child.”

“Neil and David can’t wait to hold their baby; they don’t care if it’s a boy or a girl. They just want a healthy child,” says the source.
I wonder which of them is going to donate the sperm. When talking with the possible fathers of my future children we discussed the idea of mixing their sperm so that it'd be a surprise. I'm hoping they go that route.

Wanda Sykes Has Twins

Wanda Sykes' wife Alex delivered twins on April 27th. But I just heard about it today. They named the babies Olivia Lou and Lucas Claude.

Why is everyone having them in pairs these days? Cat and Jen Cora even went for pairs, despite no twins. On the other hand, congrats to Wanda and Alex for the incredibly ordinary names. I even like the name Olivia (no, not just for the cruise...). If there are ever pictures posted anywhere I'll put them up, but I'm thinking that since the kids were born a few weeks before the rest of the world got the news, they may be into the whole privacy thing.

Congrats to the happy family!

Cat and Jeniffer Reproduced While I was Too Lazy to Even Type About It.

So way back on April 4th, Cat Cora (Iron Chef) and her wife Jennifer had a baby they named Thatcher Julius Cora. Jennifer did the hard work in this case, while Cat is still waiting a few more months to deliver the next baby for the family in about three months.

I like the name Thatcher. Not so crazy about Julius, but Thatcher has the same sort of dignity that, say, Anderson has. (Yes, I'm still obsessing.)

So congrats to the happy family. I'm in awe of your ability to not kill each other while both of you are dealing with the horror show miracle that is pregnancy.

Pregnant Wives

So Iron Chef's Cat Cora is pregnant. And so is her wife, Jennifer. Cat Cora posted a bit from a piece by OK! Magazine on her myspace:

"Iron Chef's Cat Cora has a bigger surprise than the unveiling of her secret ingredient on her hit Food Network show; She's expecting her third--and fourth--sons! "It's really crazy!" the chef, 41, tells OK! Most unusual, Cat will give birth three months after her partner, Jennifer Cora, 37. "We decided that having them a year apart is harder than having kids as infants together," Cat says of their planned pregnancies. Their four children have the same sperm donor but Cat says," [Jennifer] carried my embryo amd I carried hers. It's like surrogating, but obviously all of our kids are equal."

I've always wanted to have kids like that if I can't adopt. Have my partner carry my egg or me carry hers. I wanted it so that I could be snarky when people asked who the biological mother was and tell them we both were. It has never, ever occurred to me that I might get knocked up at the same time as my partner. That seems both practical and entirely insane.

Congrats to Cat and Jennifer! I can't wait to see the baby pictures from these ones!

Clay Aiken Brings Home Baby, Does Broadway

Clay Aiken brought his baby home forever ago. Shortly after that he announced that he will be returning to reprise his role as Sir Robin this fall in the Monty Python Spamalot musical which he will be performing from September 19 - January 4.

I can't quite reconcile Clay Aiken and Monty Python. I mean, I haven't seen this musical and I don't know anyone who has, but it just somehow seems wrong to me that he should be in something to do with Monty Python.

Aiken Baby Arrives, Clay Still Gay

The baby that Clay Aiken put into his producer, Jaymes Foster without the nuisance of heterosexual sex has arrived safe and sound. The baby was named Parker Foster Aiken and thankfully doesn't appear to have inherited his fathers hair. Congrats to Clay and Jaymes. I'll post pictures whenever they come out. (The pictures, I mean, not Clay...)

Clay Aiken Aims to Spawn Again

In Touch Weekly is saying that Clay and his friend, producer and mother of his future child Jaymes Foster have saved some sperm and eggs for future inseminations. Apparently they're hoping for twins this time around so that they won't have to go through the whole insemination thing again, but failing that they'll go for round two some time next year.

Clay Aiken Spawns

Clay Aiken has decided to reproduce. Or at least to help someone else reproduce. TMZ says Jaymes Foster, Clay's best friend and music producer is due to give birth in August. And, no, Clay didn't go all straight on us. The conception was good old fashioned artificial insemination. Clay intends to have an "active role" in the kid's life, though I have no idea if that means he'll be co-parenting.
