In a totally atypical style for lesbians, the two announced they had been dating for a few months in the end of September and are now planning to tie the knot in December. Apparently Rosie O'Donnell has bad gaydar. Rosie recently admitted to ABC's Nightline that when she first met her partner Michelle Rounds she mistook her for a 28 year old straight woman, rather than a 40 year old lesbian. And I can see why. Although I know plenty of beautiful femme lesbians, there is no way I would have guessed this woman's age to be 40. But O'Donnell says she is thankful for her mistake, because she wouldn't have had the guts to talk to Rounds had she known she was a lesbian.

Rosie Defends Oprah

Rosie O’Donnell spoke about Oprah Winfrey and her best friend Gayle King being gay, saying that she believed Winfrey’s statement to Barbara Walters that she's not a lesbian. She suggested that the rumors about Winfrey and King stem from a lack of understanding about the nature of close female relationships. I think her statement is true but I also don't think it's not a coincidence that Rosie is getting a new show on the Oprah network. Just saying.

People don't really understand or don't have the privilege of seeing a friendship between two women that is that deep. I have the same best friend that I've had since I was 3. I know the intensity of that relationship and what it feels like -- to have someone you can depend on no matter what. So, I get it. And I don't think she was defending it as much as just answering all the speculation. She didn't seem defensive to me. If anything, it's just insulting to her integrity that people would consider that she was lying.

Oprah Winfrey is calling it quits in 2011 and rumor is Rosie is considering returning to television. Seriously, I don't know why the hell anyone would compare Rosie to Oprah but I'm just the messenger. Her show was a hit in the late 90's and the early part of 00's but she's a wack job and I can't imagine she would have a chance. Come on Rosie, you're no Oprah or Ellen, even in your wildest dreams. This past Friday on her radio show, Rosie admited that Kelly had moved out of their home together two years ago. I guess she's finally tired of avoiding questions about their relationship being in trouble. The confession came out as a result of Rosie talking about her dog and how it likes to sleep with her, the animal she got three days after Kelly left. Rosie said she needed another thing to love......Oh Rosie, things really aren't going well for you anymore. I tend to prefer human contact over animals but I guess I'm just weird.

Rosie Radio

It appears that retired talk show host Rosie O'Donnell will be getting her own radio program soon (personally, I think I would rather listen to finger nails on a chalk board). Sirius-XM approached Rosie after she guested on Howard Stern's radio show earlier this year. When they agreed to broadcast "Rosie Radio" from a studio she's building inside her guesthouse, Rosie signed right on, saying that she needed something to do while her four kids were in school anyway. If this comment is the only positive thing she can think of for doing the show, I think it's pretty sad....

"All my kids are in school now, so all day long I have nothing to do. This was the first year that they were all in school all day, and I found myself very bored. I was saying to [wife] Kelli [Carpenter], we either need to get another kid or I’ll have to go back to work."
