Jenna Talackova was a Miss Universe contestant who made headlines when she was snubbed by the competitions officials.  As a result of the backlash, the incident forced the old fashioned show to change its rules to include Transgender individuals.  Jenna did not win but is getting her own show on E! Canada in a new reality television series called Brave New Girl.

Miss Pennsylvania Has to Pay for Being Transphobic

Miss Pennsylvania Sheena Monnin was pissed off at the Miss Universe contest in Canada for allowing trans woman Jenna Talackova to compete.  She believed it was fraudulent, lacking in morals, inconsistent, and in many ways trashy for the competition. The pageant organization (owned by dumbass Donald Trump) let Monnin’s insults slide until she started to claim that the Miss USA was rigged, and that another contestant had seen the names of the five finalists before the show started. That’s when the Donald grabbed a lawyer and sued Monnin for defamation, claiming her allegation was inspired by malice.  She now owes five million for her slips of the tongue.

Miss Pennsylvania Not a Good Loser

Miss Pennsylvania Sheen Monnin is transphobic and a poor loser, not a good combination. She says she quit because the Miss Universe competition was rigged and that they made the decision to allow trans contestant Jenna Talackova into the competition. She's upset that the moral integrity has been lost because of this inclusion. Poor baby lost and wins the worst excuse award.

Miss Universe Competition Changes Mind

It still pissed me off that this was even an issue but after a huge outcry, Jenna Talackova is going to be allowed to compete in the Miss Universe Canada competition. The main group fighting for them to change their minds was GLAAD and the pressure worked. The Miss Universe Organization released this statement:

The Miss Universe Organization will allow Jenna Talackova to compete in the 2012 Miss Universe Canada pageant provided she meets the legal gender recognition requirements of Canada, and the standards established by other international competitions

Miss Universe Canada Transphobic

If pageants weren't bad enough, they are now transphobic. Jenna Talackova has been disqualified from the Miss Universe Canada competition because she was born a male and that apparently goes against the rules. Talackova was originally selected as one of 65 finalists and her profile and photos have been pulled from the Miss Universe Canada website. The website states that to enter, women must be a Canadian citizen and between the ages of 18 - 27, if basic requirements are met, they are asked to fill out a longer application. The form makes no reference to sexual reassignment and this is a bogus reason to kick her out of the competition. Miss Universe Canada released a pathetic statement:

Jenna Talackova from Vancouver, British Columbia will not compete in the 2012 Miss Universe Canada competition because she did not meet the requirements to compete despite having stated otherwise on her entry form. We do however, respect her goals, determination and wish her the best.
