Jim Parsons Officially Comes Out

I love The Big Bang Theory and one of the main reasons is because of Jim Parsons who plays neurotic geek Sheldon Cooper. We all had our suspicions about his sexuality and when he thanked his partner at the Golden Globes, the world started to figure it out. The 39 year old actor has decided to come out officially about his partner of ten years in his new New York Times profile. I'm not surprised but I'm happy.

Cynthia Nixon - Gay is a Choice


Cynthia Nixon has pissed a lot of people off with her latest interview with the New York Times. She believes that she is gay by choice and not by birth. The main problem for people with her argument is it opens the flood gates for the anti-gay movement to say, 'I told you so'. Although that being said, I think it is narrow minded to shoot her down and she has every right to express how she feels.
I say it doesn’t matter if we flew here or we swam here, it matters that we are here and we are one group and let us stop trying to make a litmus test for who is considered gay and who is not

Gay Characters Removed From Books

The New York Times has reported on two novels that originally had gay characters but never made it to print because of censorship. Harper Lee's To Kill a Mockingbird was one of the books listed. In the authors first version there was a homosexual relationship between the lawyer and his client. The second book, George Orwell's 1984 was also forced to change a key relationship in the book. Winston's lover had to be turned into Julia instead of Julian. It's amazing how much control censors have on the creative process. How many other masterpieces have been changed because they didn't fit social protocol?
