I Can't Afford to Call My Co-Workers Names Any Longer...

The idiot trying to grab attention on stage is Ian Bernardo, and he's suing American Idol for $300 million because they're meanies. Seriously.

Bernado in the suit says the producers “exploited my non-conforming appearance and sexual orientation. They did this by directing me to ‘gay it up’ in any appearance I made on camera… Although characterized as an ‘audition’ to the public at large, in fact, I was and was paid as an employee of respondents for each appearance.”

He said employees of “Idol” derided him for his appearance using words like “fag” and “homo.” “The workplace,” he said, “was permeated with discriminatory intimidation, ridicule, insults and hostile and offensive comments that were so severe as to alter my working conditions and create an environment that was abusive and ultimately threatening to my safety.”

I get that he feels bad about being called names. But so bad that he needs $300 million to make him feel better? How does that even make sense? He certainly seemed happy enough in the above clip where he asked for everyone's undivided attention. I hate to say someone is faking this sort of claim, and I believe that it's likely true that he experienced some homophobia in the work place. But $300 million dollars worth of it? That just throws all credibility out the window.

George Michael Crashes His Car Again.

In more completely unsurprising news, George Michael crashed his Range Rover after a store jumped in front of his car. No news for certain if he was drunk or high, but he was leaving London's Gay Pride at 3:35 in the morning, so I'm going to go ahead and make an assumption. And if he wasn't, he shouldn't be driving anyhow. He's clearly terrible at it.

Lindsay Lohan May Be a Topless Jewel Theif?

I really, really want to say that Lindsay is getting better and that her sketchy days are behind her. However, she posted this old topless picture of herself on Twitter because "I'm THAT bored". She's also being questioned by police after $400 000 in Dior jewelry went missing after Lindsay did a cover shoot for Elle. Elle has officially stated that there's no reason to believe that Lindsay is responsible for the theft:
"I can confirm on behalf of Elle magazine, that items of jewelry went missing from an Elle photoshoot ... and the matter is now being investigated by the police," she states. "Elle has no reason to believe that Lindsay Lohan was in any way responsible and has no further comment to make."
Now, I'll admit, I've posted all sorts of pictures online that I shouldn't have. And I'll probably do it again. So maybe this was just one of those moments. After all, she's only 22. And I'm going to continue to be blindly optimistic and believe that Lindsay wouldn't ruin her chance at making a come back for a couple of pieces of jewelry. Please, Lindsay, don't let me down!

Lori Petty Gets a DUI

Lori Petty was arrested and charged with a DUI Saturday night after hitting a skateboarder with her car. TMZ reports that her bail was set at $100 000. And they have a video of her leaving court, though it's not exactly heartwarming.

I count this as news because Petty was one of the few actors out there who was always willing to play a lesbian role even before it was cool to pretend to be bisexual, and I've always appreciated her for that. I don't appreciate the drunk driving (hire a cab, people!) but hopefully this is the one and only time and we won't have a Lohan-like repetition going on.

Richard Hatch "Halfway" Free

Yeah, I know, bad joke. But regardless, the original Survivor winner has been moved out of the federal prison he was sent to in January 2006 for tax evasion and is now in a Pennsylvania halfway house. He is expected to be released in October.

I want to say a whole lot of snarky things about the Canadian justice system, but I'll only make enemies, so I think I'll let this one drop. At least you can give me credit for never making the obvious "drop the soap" type jokes while he was in.

Samantha Ronson Pays the Bill

Samantha Ronson has finally paid the $87, 000 in legal fees she owed to Perez Hilton. She had filed a defamation suit against Perez when he wrote that she owned the coke in Lindsay's car after Lindsay's arrest in May, 2007. She lost the suit and was ordered to pay Hilton's legal fees in January, but never got around to it. KNBC reports:

By turning over a cashier's check for $86,832, Ronson avoids a hearing that was scheduled Monday in Los Angeles Superior Court, in which the club deejay would have had to answer questions about her ability to pay for Hilton's award.

The picture is one of many, many pictures taken of Lindsay and Sam in Los Cabos, Mexico where they've been on vacation. They have more bathing suits on that one trip than I've owned in my entire life. I suppose if you can afford to pay $87K to Perez Hilton you can afford a few new swimsuits as well...

Richard Hatch Survives - In Court This Time

Remember way back to the very first Survivor? Richard Hatch, the winner of season 1, has appealed his tax evasion charges all the way up to the Supreme Court. Two years ago Hatch was convicted of tax evasion on the million dollars he won from the show and was sentenced to four years in prison. Hatch is blaming one of the show's producers who apparently promised to have the taxes paid if Hatch kept his mouth shut about the cheating. CBS, of course, says that this is a load of bull. Their words. Really. (OK, not really, don't sue.)
