Thomas Hitzlsperger Comes Out

Thomas Hitzlsperger retired from professional football in Germany last September and has decided to come out because he hopes to further the debate about homosexuality among sports professionals.  I'm sure the timing isn't coincidental with the Olympics in Sochi less than a month away.
Only in the last few years have I realized that I preferred living together with a man. I was never ashamed of being who I am but it was not always easy to sit on a table with 20 young men and listen to jokes about gays.

Go Germany!

Germany has released their new uniforms and I can't help but notice how colourful they are.  Some might even say they look like a rainbow.  This could be Germany's response to Russia's anti-gay laws but they won't confirm that.  They are saying the design was done before the law was in place.  I'm really hoping it's a not so subtle political statement.

Queer as Folk Reunion

The Queer as Folk cast will reunite for the first time in seven years at a convention in Cologne, Germany. The only one who will be a no-show is Gale Harold who played Brian Kinney. I don't think anyone would find that move overly surprising. I'd love to see the rest of them all together again.
