Shiloh Jolie-Pitt Rocks Suit With Family

This is parenting at it's finest.  Half the Jolie-Pitt family went to the opening of Angelina's movie Unbroken and they all were dressed to impress.  Especially Shiloh who has always been an original and she looks amazing in her suit.  I'm so glad she wasn't forced to conform to stupid societal norms.  This is so much better.

Shiloh Gets To Keep Short Hair

Angelina Jolie is so supportive of her daughter Shiloh. The gender bending four year old has been known to cry over having long hair and asked her mother for a haircut. Being open minded, Angelina never forces her to bend to social norms.

I'm not going to leave it long because somebody thinks I should. I have a very strong-willed four-year-old girl who tells me what she wants to wear and I let her be who she is...I think people think kids should be a certain way, but I feel they should wear what they feel like wearing and they should express themselves.

Angelina Jolie Says Shilo Wants to Be a Boy

Angelina Jolie did an interview with Vanity Fair where she discusses her life and her children. Most interestingly, to me at least, she discusses Shiloh's boyish appearance and behavior. There have been rumors floating around for a while now that she has been living as a boy at home and asking to be called James, but for the first time, Angelina has talked about it, saying:

"She likes to dress like a boy. She wants to be a boy. So, we had to cut her hair. She likes to wear boys' everything. She thinks she's one of the brothers."

It's wonderful that Angelina is so relaxed about the whole issue. It's possible that she just thinks it's a funny phase, or that she'd be less accepting if it were one of her boys who was showing a preference for a different gender, but mostly, I just can't help but feel great about how open she is to her child's desires to express gender how the kid sees fit rather than how the tabloids see fit. And you just know Shiloh will be the most handsome little bugger in the world.

Shiloh's Controversial Haircut

Apparently, Life and Style Magazine have an issue with the way Angelina and Brad are raising their daughter. Recently, they published an article stating they were trying to turn her into a boy by cutting her hair short and dressing her like a tom boy. They even got a group of stylists together to critique the cut. The comments ranged from princess charming to the too close to cross dresser territory. The child is three years old and already being attacked by gender stereotypes. Her older sister Zahara dresses very feminine and they both appear extremely happy. Thankfully her parents don't seem to give a damn and let their children's personalities shine through, no matter what they choose.
