Sally Field on Her Love for Her Gay Son


Sally Field talks to Oprah this Sunday about raising and loving her gay son. She urges more parents to advocate for their children and this comes only a few weeks after accepting an ally award from the Human Rights Campaign, presented by her son Sam.

Brad Pitt Supports Gay Marriage


I have to admit, I've always had a soft spot for Brad PItt and now he has only made me like him more.  He's upset with the fact that Americans are voting on human rights and has offered to match campaign dollars to show his support.  This is an awesome gesture.
It’s unbelievable to me that people’s lives and relationships are literally being voted on in a matter of days. In Maine, Maryland, Minnesota and Washington, voters will go to the polls to decide if gay and lesbian couples – our friends and neighbors – are worthy of the same protections as everyone else. But that’s the system we have and I’m not going to back down from the fight for loving and committed couples to have the ability to marry. Especially when groups like the Human Rights Campaign are fighting these battles day-in and day-out. So, here’s what I’m going to do. If you make a contribution to these ballot measure campaigns in the next 24 hours, I’ll double it – every dollar of the way, up to $100,000.

Lana Wachowski Receives Visibility Award


Transgender filmmaker Lana Wachowski recounts her traumatic childhood and how she planned her suicide in an amazing speech at the Human Rights Campaign’s fundraising gala. Lana accepted the Visibility Award and totally deserved it.  She directed The Matrix trilogy and the new movie Cloud Atlas.  Apparently, I'm not really in the loop because I had no idea and if you didn't know either - no judgement.
