Ron Howard Keeps Gay Joke

Public backlash from GLAAD, CNN’s Anderson Cooper, talk show host Ellen DeGeneres, and other celebrities resulted in The Dilemma’s “electric cars are gay” joke being pulled from the film’s trailer. However, director Ron Howard has announced that the joke will remain in the movie, and he defended his position by writing a letter to the Los Angeles Times. In the letter he says that Vince Vaughn's character constantly says things that get him in trouble and this is another example. I think in a time where bullying and gay suicides have been all over the media, Howard would know better.

Universal Pulls Trailer With Gay Slur


Last month Universal released a trailer for the film The Dilemma starring Vince Vaughn and after reviewing, GLAAD called on Universal to remove the scene where the word 'gay' was used as a slur from the trailer. Anderson Cooper also spoke out against the scene and now Universal has confirmed that the offensive joke will be removed from promotional campaigns from this point forward. Come on Universal, you had to see this one coming.
