Ellen has started taping American Idol in Hollywood, as the auditions start to come to an end. In an interview with Entertainment Weekly magazine she said if Simon leaves the show she would no longer continue with Idol and she joked that she's trying not to take it personally. I did find it interesting how the magazine brought up how Simon and Randy have been criticized for their gay themed banter. I loved her response, "Simon, I guess this is as good a time as any to tell you-I'm gay." Really, how was she suppose to respond? I think people need to lighten up and not take everything so personally. Although, if they do say something homophobic, I will be the first to bash them every chance I get!
