As far as I'm concerned, Spartacus Blood and Sand deserves some credit. They not only had a gay gladiator but they treated the relationship with the same respect as any other on the show. None of the other characters skipped a beat when the two showed affection for one another because it was a normal part of life. During the same episode, the gay characters death held the same impact as that of the wife of Spartacus dying. It's a shame they were killed off so suddenly but it gives me hope that more shows will follow in the same direction.
