Word came out that the second season of the cop drama "Southland" would focus more on Benjamin McKenzie's Officer Sherman and Regina King's Detective Adams. Many people were concerned this new direction would cut out Officer Cooper, the gay cop played by Michael Cudlitz. The series this season is suppose to focus on Sherman, Adams and their partners, including Cooper. I'm happy to hear that Cooper won't completely fade away. This season Cooper is suppose to be coming out to Sherman, a revelation that Cudlitz predicts won't be a big deal. Cudlitz also stated that Southland is looking to cast Cooper's extended family, so we should be continuing to see glimpses of his personal life as the show continues. I love the way they portray his character becaues it's not your usual gay character, which is a very nice change!
