Apparently Britain is all up in arms over the gayness in Eastenders. The clip above includes a kinda hot gay kiss (1:30) and some cutesy gay couple stuff that makes me want to be those guys. But the BBC has been given a lot of flack for airing it. The BBC has been entirely cool about the whole issue however. The Daily Mail reports:
In a statement the BBC confirmed it had received complaints - but refused to say how many.
The statement read: 'We approach our portrayal of homosexual relationships in the same way as we do heterosexual relationships.
'We believe that the general tone and content of EastEnders is now widely recognised.
The viewer reactions are horrifying and hilarious, but one viewer, "Pat" had the most idiotic reaction I could ever think of:
'I had to explain to my seven-year-old son what was happening.
He now thinks he is gay because he kisses his dad.'
Seriously, lady, how did you explain what was happening? I think the kid might have come to better conclusions with his own imagination than whatever it was his mother said...
