After 12 years, Rent is finally ending it's Broadway run. It's last show will be taped and played in theaters. Sony Pictures will begin to release stage shows, concerts and sporting events to multiplexes. I know someone did this with the opera before, so it must have been a success since Sony is hopping on board.What I don't understand is the choice to start with this particular show. It was just released as a film in 2005.
