Niki Mahajan's 2010 collection is amazing for two reasons. Firstly, it's based on a lesbian love story and secondly, it's coming out of a India, a country where being queer is far from easy. Not to mention she's in a predominately male fashion industry. I've been looking at her designs and I'm in love. Mahajan has covered my two favourite things in life, women and beautiful clothes! Here's something she had to say:
I want the world to realize that we should not shy away from accepting the fact that love need not to happen between opposite sex....so we just accept gay people as a part of our society rather than ignoring their presence.
