If you are unfamiliar with punk rocker Laura Jane Grace you really need to check out the MTV interview she does called 'A Life Unburdened'. It's the first interview she gives since announcing that she's transgender. Done with living with the assigned gender and name Tommy Gabel she was born with, in 2009 with a wife and new baby Laura makes the incredibly hard decision to come out. You really need to check this out.

I was really, honestly excited. When I first told my wife, immediately it was just like this huge weight being lifted off my shoulders, and subsequently every other person that I've told, that feeling was more and more there," Laura says. "I've been completely blown away by the majority of people's reactions. … They've been more than respectful and more than supportive, and it's been, for me, completely humbling.

Paul Iacono Comes Out

Paul Iacono played RJ Berger on the MTV show The Hard Times Of RJ Berger. He has come out publicly and I love that he is acting like it's no big deal and it shouldn't be.

Yes. I'm rolling with the punches here. I was asked if I was comfortable doing gay press. I said 'of course.' I didn't think I'd be coming out. But why not now? I think it's the right time to say something. I believe that in 100 years, none of us will be having to identify as gay, straight, bi, or otherwise. Sexuality will be a more fluid thing.

Tyler the Creator is Homophobic

There is a new hater getting airtime on MTV and it is outraging a lot of people including the organization GLAAD. Tyler the Creator's new album has won an MTV music award and it is pretty disgusting how anti-gay the lyrics are. His response to criticism makes me think some people shouldn't be allowed to reproduce:

Well, I have gay fans and they don't really take it offensive, so I don't know. If it offends you, it offends you…If you call me a n—a, I really don't care, but that's just me, personally. Some people might take it the other way; I personally don't give a sh–.

I’m not homophobic. I just think 'f***ot' hits and hurts people. It hits. And 'gay' just means you’re stupid. I don't know, we don’t think about it, we're just kids. We don’t think about that s**t. But I don't hate gay people. I don't want anyone to think I’m homophobic.

Teen Wolf Has Gay Character

MTV's new series Teen Wolf is going to feature a gay character. His character name is Danny and he will be played by Keahu Kahuanui. It won't be starting for another two months but I'm happy to keep reporting of gay characters that are slowly appearing in more and more shows. The show is suppose to be more 'serious' than previous teen dramas like Buffy the Vampire Slayer. I'm really not sure what that means but I can bet it will be hormone and drama filled.

Gay Porn Star on The Real World

MTV's The Real World is returning to Las Vegas for its 2011 season. I've lost count how many seasons there has been and I'm actually surprised it's still on the air. I guess they are ensuring there longevity by casting 24 year old Dustin Zito, a gay porn star as one of the housemates. My favourite part of the trailer is the girl who is upset for having sex on camera and it floods the Internet. Isn't that the point of going on a reality show sweetheart?
