Zachary Quinto Defends Renee Zelwegger

Unless you live under a rock, you've heard about Renee Zelwegger's new look.  She obviously had some work done and now has been brutally attacked on the internet.  Zachary Quinto responds and defends her:

I thought the Internet response was completely bizarre and really aggressive, and it infiltrated the zeitgeist in such a powerful way in such a short amount of time — and she looks amazing, first of all. Second of all, she acknowledged her position, and I thought she did it in an intelligent and classy way. And third of all, so what? You know what I mean? Who’s not getting work done? Who’s not trying to bend to the unrealistic expectations of women when they’re young, let alone when they’re older? I thought she did it in a really bold and beautiful way. I think she looks amazing and if she’s happy, then shut the fuck up, everybody.

Zachary Quinto Comes Out

Zachary Quinto is best known for his role on Heroes and he played Spock in the first film of the new Star Trek Movies. He has decided to come out of the closet after playing a man who abandoned his AIDS-stricken boyfriend in the show Angels in America. He says it was a very eye opening role for him.

Doing that play made me realize how lucky I was to be born when I was born and to not have to witness the decimation of an entire generation of amazingly talented and otherwise vital men. It was the most challenging thing I’ve ever done as an actor and the most rewarding. And at the same time, as a gay man, it made me feel like there’s still so much work to be done, and there’s still so many things that need to be looked at and addressed.
