George Ties the Knot

A picture from George Takei and Brad Altman's wedding. The Associated Press says:

Wedding guests included "Star Trek" stars Walter Koenig and Nichelle Nichols, who served as best man and best lady, Hollywood executives, local and national government officials and the couple's relatives from around the world.
Keeping with the multicultural theme, guests dined on Asian/Baja Californian fusion cuisine and took home Japanese tea-ceremony treats in boxes printed with the phrase: "May sweet equality live long and prosper."

Maybe they should have had a Star Trek theme wedding. They look cute in those matching tuxes, but I'll bet there would have been some truly bizarre pictures to post if they had just gone for it all the way. Gay space weddings are all the rage these days...

George and Brad are Licensed to Wed

George Takei of Star Trek fame and his long time partner Brad Altman went to city hall and got their marriage license today. The couple plan to wed in September. Takei says:

Today we are all here to give flesh and blood reality to that ruling. We are going to make history. Congratulations to all of us and may equality live long and prosper.

More gay weddings ahead! George Takei of Star Trek fame announced his engagement to Brad Altman, his partner of 21 years.

Since this whole same-sex marriage announcement in California this is turning into the queer marriage blog. Not that I'm complaining here.
