Bristol Likes the Gays

Bristol Palin was first on Dancing With the Stars in 2010 and was criticized for making a lesbian joke about Margaret Cho. I guess now that she is joining the show again as an all-star she's trying to make everyone forget her past indiscretions. She was doing an interview and states 'she likes the gays'. Phew, that was really keeping me up at night.

Chaz's Dancing Made his Mother Cry.

Cher was brought to tears by what some people are calling her son Chaz's best dancing ever on Dancing With the Stars. The crowd gave a standing ovation for Chaz's dance to the theme from 'Rocky.'

Chaz Bono Blows the Quickstep

I really hope Chaz Bono doesn't get kicked off Dancing With the Stars but he did the quickstep this week and he looked like he was in slow motion. It was more than a little painful to watch. Hopefully he can redeem himself next week!

Cher Calls Ellen Show About Chaz

Cher called during her son Chaz Bono's appearance on the Ellen DeGeneres's show and she had a very strong opinion towards the trans haters who've complained about Chaz on Dancing With the Stars.
If you got that excess time and that amount of hostility, I'm not so sure that I can say anything to you that would make you change your feelings. Those are feelings of such hostility and fear I don't know that I would have any magic words to make you feel more comfortable and to soothe you into not being terrified of my child dancing on Dancing With the Fucking Stars.

Cher Shows Support For Chaz

Cher isn't happy with the controversy surrounding her son Chaz Bono's participation on the next season of Dancing With The Stars. She is going to make a surprise visit on the show to show her support but of course we can't know which one. In response, last night on the news I saw a nut job from Focus on the Family telling all Christians they should boycott the show. I hope the ratings go through the roof and their hatred bites them in the ass.

Melissa Joan Hart Defends Chaz Bono

Dancing With the Stars has come under fire for considering to have Chaz Bono dance on the show with a female partner. People really need to get their heads out of their asses and start worrying about things that actually matter. Here's what she had to say:
I don’t even think that’s relevant. You’ve had elderly people, you have teenagers, dancers, people who have never been in front of a camera, and you’ve had a woman with one leg. I mean, you have a lot of challenges there. I don’t think being transgendered is really a challenge. He is a notable person, and an icon’s son, or daughter, or whatever, and I think that that’s going to draw a lot of attention. He wrote a book, people follow him on Twitter, it’s like, the people who are on that show are fascinating and they have a large draw.

Chaz Bono Signs for Dancing With the Stars

According to TMZ, Chaz Bono has signed on to do the next season of Dancing With the Stars. Chaz will be paired with a female pro dancer, which is not even remotely surprising since he's a straight man, but I can't help but remember that they said at this point that only Portia de Rossi would be allowed to do a same sex dance pairing. I'm glad this doesn't knock trans men off the list, but I still have some reservations with the appeal to a "conservative audience." Let's see how they treat Chaz when he gets on there and maybe I'll ease my opinions a bit.

No Same Sex Couple on DWTS

Since things didn't work out with Ellen DeGeneres' wife Portia de Rossi, ABC and Dancing With The Stars have decided not to have a same sex couple compete. With gay bullying in the media, this would have been a perfect time to show acceptance on the show. Here is ABC's bullshit excuse:
If Portia had agreed then this would have been a done deal. She was the only star that could have pulled this off without completely offending the program's conservative viewers. Since she has passed though, producers have decided to "not rush into creating a same-sex dancing couple just to get attention and publicity.

Was Cho Eliminated for Gay Dress?

Margaret Cho was eliminated on Dancing with the Stars due to a rainbow-colored costume she wore that judges referred to as a gay pride dress, according to her dancing partner Louis van Amstel.
That was not the story we planned to tell. That was not my message. Maybe it was Margaret's message, but not mine. The minute it was about gay pride, I knew we were gone. I knew it. But if I would have said something then and there, I would have looked like an asshole. The damage was done. If I have to label myself, yes, I'm gay, I'm proud of who I am and comfortable with myself and my lifestyle. But I don't want to be limited by that. I don't want to be put into a box. I don't want to be labeled in any way because labeling is the beginning of discrimination and hatred.
Get over yourself Louis, Cho was eliminated because she sucked at dancing. End of story.

Margaret Cho Supports Suicide Prevention.

Margaret Cho danced in a rainbow dress Monday night on Dancing With the Stars. The performance was to bring awareness to the problem of Gay youth suicides. Her marks were awful but her heart was in the right place.
Our story is serious. We wanted to celebrate pride. We wanted to show ourselves off. It's a tough time for the gay community. A lot of gay teenagers have committed suicide, so we want this to end now!
