Hallmark Adds Transgender Cards
I am very impressed that Hallmark has added Transgender cards to it's list of greeting cards. The inside of this card says, 'how wonderful is that'. I love that this is another way friends and family can show their support of someone transitioning.

First Trans Gender Doll
Jazz Jennings is getting her own doll thanks to a doll maker in New York. Jazz has her own show on TLC about her life as a trans youth. I can only imagine how happy this will make some kids. It's about time there was a doll other than the All American Girl. Times are a changing and I love it.

Elle Fanning Plays Trans Teen in About Ray
Elle Fanning plays a trans teen in the new movie called About Ray. It also has some other big named stars playing her mother, Naomi Watts and grandmother, Susan Sarandon. I can't wait to see this one and I think it's going to be a tear jerker. It's an amazing change for Elle who usually graces the covers of fashion magazines in uber femme clothes. I love it.

Big Brother Adds Trans Contestant
I can't believe Big Brother is already in it's 17th season. This time around they added their first trans house guest into the mix. Audrey Middleton is a 25 year old from Georgia and considers herself a 'super fan' of the reality show. Something interesting I learned while creeping on her is she used to be a ringside girl for MMA fights. I'm not surprised, considering she's gorgeous. It will be interesting to see how this season plays out.

Laverne & Caitlyn Finally Meet
Laverne Cox and Caitlyn Jenner were finally able to meet at the advance screening of Cait's reality series about transitioning called I am Cait. I can't wait for the show to air. I admire these ladies so much and cringe at every hater that mocks them. They are so courageous and beautiful both inside and out.

US First Trans Soldier
Shane Ortega was kicked out of the US military for being trans despite serving 3 military tours and a clean record of service. He's a helicopter pilot that was grounded temporarily for being trans and is happy to be back serving. Obviously, this won't be easy and he knows it:
Honestly, I have to be perfect right now. Like, I couldn’t get a speeding ticket. I can’t be late. I can’t forget to shave one day of the week. I have to be absolutely perfect. I don’t think anyone really understands the level of perfection that I have to have right now that I stepped forward, but I understood the weight of the matter. It was part of what I juggled in my judgment before I decided to do that. And it’s really uncomfortable, to be honest. But if I don’t do it, it doesn’t help anyone else.

Caitlyn Jenner's Beautiful Award Speech
If you want to call me names, make jokes, doubt my intentions, go ahead, because the reality is, I can take it. But for the thousands of kids out there coming to terms with being true to who they are, they shouldn't have to take it.

Laverne Cox Poses Nude
Allure had it's annual nude edition and Laverne Cox was asked to participate. She is stunning and originally didn't want to participate but wanted to prove how beautiful trans people are.
I said no initially, thought about it, and said no again but I'm a black transgender woman. I felt this could be really powerful for the communities that I represent. Black women are not often told that we’re beautiful unless we align with certain standards. Trans women certainly are not told we’re beautiful. Seeing a black transgender woman embracing and loving everything about her body might be inspiring for some folks. There’s a beauty in the things we think are imperfect. It sounds very cliché, but its true.
