Well this is crappy news.  Britney Griner and her finance Glory Johnson were arrested for domestic violence yesterday.  The WNBA stars were put in jail after the police attended their residence in Goodyear, Arizona.  These stories always make me sad.

Brittney Griner in ESPN Short Film

Playoffs for the WNBA start in less than a month and ESPN has done a short film out basketball star Brittney Griner.  It covers female athletes throughout history and how awful gender discrimination has been and continues to be.  The fact that female professional basketball players have to play in China in the off season to supplement their income is absurd.  It is far from the story of professional male basketball players who reap the rewards of simply being born the sport preferred gender.

Brittney Griner Doesn't Care If You Know

Brittney Griner is a incredible basket ball player in the WNBA and she wants to make it clear, she doesn't care who knows she's gay.  She is out and proud.

Don't hide who you really are. It really wasn't too difficult, I wouldn't say I was hiding or anything like that. I've always been open about who I am and my sexuality. So, it wasn't hard at all. If I can show that I'm out and I'm fine and everything's OK, then hopefully the younger generation will definitely feel the same way.

Seimone Augustus Speaks Out

Seimone Augustus plays basketball in the WNBA and she can't wrap her mind around why anyone would deny her marriage.  I don't get it either but despite what I think, I don't run the world.
I just never understood why someone else's love life and who they love and who they choose to be with affects so many other people's lives. Is it a scare of, "Gay people are going to be running around and everyone's going to turn gay?" I never understood the whole point of opposing or hating someone else's happiness.
