Tegan & Sara Open For Katy Perry

I can't believe Tegan and Sara just celebrated their 34th birthday.  It makes me feel really old.  I truly love these girls and have followed them for years.  I didn't expect this but they did were the opening act for Katy Perry this past Friday.  I remember watching these girls years ago in small venues surround by lesbians.  It is pretty crazy seeing how far they have come into the main stream market.

Tegan and Sara Kick Ass at Junos

Tegan and Sara took home awards for Pop Album of the Year, Single of the Year and Group of the Year at the Juno Awards in Winnipeg, Canada.  Don't get me wrong I love this sister duo but two things really bugged me.  Firstly, look at those pants.  They are horrible.  Secondly, their live performance was really weak.  They sound awesome singing their older stuff but this latest album is more pop/techno and they really dropped the ball.  It's too bad because they normally are amazing live.

Tegan and Sara have joined the NOH8 campaign and support marriage equality.  They vow to remain unwed until everyone can marry.  God they are cute.

Although we are Canadian, we have both vowed to remain unmarried in solidarity with the millions who don't have the same rights as us around the world. We hope that our voices (and in this case our photos) help raise awareness and assist in bringing equality to the masses

Bieber & Sara

There has been so many blogs that are covering lesbians who look like Justin Bieber, I'm beginning to wonder if he's a dyke in disguise. He's very pretty and sings quite high, although I'm expecting in a couple years when he hits puberty that may all be a thing of the past. It's created such a stir that Tegan and Sara have tweeted they should change their names fto Bieber and Sara. I think this whole phenomenon is bizarre but I'm happy it's putting dykes in the spotlight. Hopefully, the little Bieber baby doesn't take offense, not that I really care.

New Tegan & Sara

Tegan and Sara are working on the follow-up to their 2007 album "The Con". It has been way to long and I'm really pumped about hearing some new material. Their new album called "Sainthood", is their sixth studio album and is due out this coming October! The album, was produced again by Death Cab for Cutie's Chris Walla and will be the sisters' first album to include songs they wrote together at the same time and place. Can't wait!!
