Jillian Michaels Misunderstood

Jillian Michaels really upset some people with her comments about being 'normal':  

I don’t know that I am comfortable talking about being gay now, to be honest with you. The gay thing has always been hard for me. When Heidi and I are out and somebody older asks, ‘Are you sisters?’ I say, ‘We’re friends.’ I guess it comes from thinking that they will be shocked or disturbed. Look, I wish I had some strapping football player husband. It would be such a dream to be ‘normal’ like that, but I’m just not.

I truly think people are being way too hard on her.  She obviously struggles with being gay and she was just being open about that.  I don't think her honesty makes her homophobic.  Let's look at the bigger issue and see why society makes people feel this way.  She released her apology:

 I am deeply disheartened and sorry to hear that members of the gay community have misunderstood the points I was trying to make about being 'out.' I attempted to shed light on how hard and scary it can be to be out. That gay families get attacked and even small daily interactions involve others being 'shocked and disturbed' by the gay lifestyle. I was saying if along the way in my life that had been a choice I would have made it, but it's not who I am. Gay is not a choice. If I was ashamed of who I am, I would be in the closet. Considering my family was on the cover of People magazine, I think I'm pretty far from that.

Bob Harper is a trainer on The Biggest Loser and he decided to come out to support a gay struggling contestant.  He joins out trainer Jillian Michaels who came out not too long ago.  This just makes me love the show even more.  FYI Bob is 48 years old, that just blew my mind.

She's Back....

Admit it, we've all missed her. Jillian Michaels is back for the fourteenth season of the terribly addictive, Biggest Loser. She focuses on teenage obesity and apparently uses her own experience as an overweight teen to give her motivation.

As a former overweight teen, I know firsthand how dramatically weight issues can affect every aspect of a child's life. Having recently become a mother of two, I am more passionate than ever about helping empower children and families with the information and resources they need to live a healthier life.

Jillian Michaels Wants Prefers Adoption to Getting Fat.

Jillian Michael's raised some eyebrows when she told Women's Health that she'd rather adopt a kid than put her body through a pregnancy. She also said that she prefers the idea of rescuing a child to producing a new one, but no one wants to focus on that because it isn't controversial. There have been a lot of comments saying that her statements were irresponsible or indicative of a lack of self esteem, but I'm going to disagree with everyone. It's nice to hear someone just say the truth. Pregnancy does horrifying things to the body. For some people that doesn't matter, and good for them. But that's not everyone. Pregnancy does some terrible things to the wallet, too, and that's reason enough for some people. If you choose not to reproduce, your choice. I defend her choice and applaud her honesty.

Jillian is Bisexual

Jillian Michaels is the popular personal trainer on "The Biggest Loser" tv show. There has always been some rumors of her being a lesbian but nothing has been confirmed. It turns out she is bisexual and I think it's fantastic! She has recently been quoted saying:
"Let's just say I believe in healthy love. If I fall in love with a woman, that's awesome. If I fall in love with a man, that's awesome. As long as you fall in love...it's like organic food. I only eat healthy, and I only want healthy love!
