The Vampire Diaries will be adding a gay character but the creator is not quite sure who or when one of the show’s characters will come out. The gay writer and director says he doesn’t want a repeat of the coming out storyline on Dawson’s Creek (aren't we all), but it’s important to him to have a gay character on the show. He says he wants everyone represented in the show and that's exactly what he's going to do. I guess werewolves are going to have to wait their turn.
