Cynthia Nixon has pissed a lot of people off with her latest interview with the New York Times. She believes that she is gay by choice and not by birth. The main problem for people with her argument is it opens the flood gates for the anti-gay movement to say, 'I told you so'. Although that being said, I think it is narrow minded to shoot her down and she has every right to express how she feels.

I say it doesn’t matter if we flew here or we swam here, it matters that we are here and we are one group and let us stop trying to make a litmus test for who is considered gay and who is not

Korean Director Comes Out at Sundance

The Sundance Film Festival had a couple gay themed movies entered this year. Among them, a documentary on V. Gene Robinson, the first openly gay Episcopal bishop and a short film by a gay Korean-American man named Ahn Dol who tried to use his project to come out to his family. I'm not sure what made him think that would be a good idea. He says he did not have it in him to come out to his parents and family but knew they would come watch his movie. Surprise, surprise, his plan did not go as he hoped.

After the credits rolled they said 'Oh, is that it?'. I just started crying because I built up the moment so much, and I knew that they were in denial, that I could have taken the DVD, gone back to my room and they wouldn't have said a thing.

Hot as hell aspiring actor Jamie Clayton did an interview with People about her appearance as a guest star on Hung, in which she plays a trans woman who hires the show's star who plays a sex worker. Clayton, who is transgender as well, is a 33 year old makeup artist, and this is her first role. A few key quotes:

"I really hope that people walk away from the episodes with exactly what Ray walks away with: knowing that Kyla is a beautiful girl who deserves to be treated like everybody else."

Though Hung co-creator Collette Burson recently told TV Guide they're thinking of bringing Clayton back as Ray's girlfriend next season, the budding actress has only one hope. "At the end of the day," she says, "I just want people to judge me for my work, and not for my past."

So Kelly Osborne said some pretty transphobic things when talking to Glamour magazine about her former fiance's infidelity. Luke Worrall cheated on her with another model, Elle Schneider. Elle is a pre-op trans woman, which is seemingly the worst thing Osbourne can think of.

"Having to tell them (my parents) my fiance had cheated on me with a tranny who sold his/her story to the press (was the most uncomfortable moment). It was so humiliating," Contactmusic quoted the DWTS star as telling Glamour.
"Everyone kept telling me that Luke was cheating on me, but I never believed them.
"It's hard enough to get your head around someone cheating on you, but when someone is a chick with a d**k?
"Up until then, I'd always thought that the worst way to get cheated on would be with an ugly girl. Don't you think?
"Because at least if they cheat on you with a gorgeous girl it makes some kind of sense.

Iran Soccer Players Punished For Butt Grab

I sometimes think it is a very sad world we live in. Two Iranian soccer players were not allowed to celebrate their recent win. The above butt grabbing may be turned into a crime punishable by a public lashing or jail time. Mohammad Nosrati and Sheys Rezaei jumped on a pile of their teammates following the game winning goal on Saturday and I don't blame them for being happy. Sadly, Iranian authorities called the butt grab an immoral act and members of parliament, sports officials and judges have called for punishment and Iran’s football federation suspended both players and fined them nearly $40,000 each. WTF, this is beyond crazy.

Fieri also needed protection from homosexuals, or at least advance warning. Early in the show's run, Page got a phone call from Fieri, who'd just walked out of a restaurant in a huff.

Zachary Quinto is best known for his role on Heroes and he played Spock in the first film of the new Star Trek Movies. He has decided to come out of the closet after playing a man who abandoned his AIDS-stricken boyfriend in the show Angels in America. He says it was a very eye opening role for him.

Doing that play made me realize how lucky I was to be born when I was born and to not have to witness the decimation of an entire generation of amazingly talented and otherwise vital men. It was the most challenging thing I’ve ever done as an actor and the most rewarding. And at the same time, as a gay man, it made me feel like there’s still so much work to be done, and there’s still so many things that need to be looked at and addressed.

For my very first post I’d hoped to keep it light and talk about how my new swimming pool isn’t coming along at the rate I’d hoped (fingers crossed for summer 2012). Instead, more than a few friends and co-workers pointed me to a recent GQ interview with Taylor Lautner and I felt I had to respond. Evidently the GQ writer asked whether director Gus Van Sant and writer Dustin Lance Black made a pass at him when the three dined together in Los Angeles recently. Really Mr. GQ writer? I’m curious, will you be asking all of the handsome actors I’ve ever had the privilege of working with or meeting if I made passes at them as well? I’d love to be there when you ask Sean Penn that same question. Or, Mr. GQ writer, were you projecting your own unprofessional desires onto me and Gus? Perhaps? Or worse still, are you a homophobe? Above and beyond this clear attack on my character, I’m shocked that GQ would allow their writer to lean on the scurrilous, outdated stereotype that gay men are by nature sexual predators. I mean, would you have asked this same question if it were Diablo Cody and Kathryn Bigelow at dinner with Mr. Lautner? Leaning on lies, myths and stereotypes about gay people is hateful, harmful and outdated. It’s not the 1950s anymore GQ, it’s 2011 and it’s time to grow up.

The Kids Are All Right Becoming HBO Show

HBO is in the works of creating a television series based on the Oscar nominated movie, The Kids Are All Right. I have mixed feelings about the movie but it was very well done. They haven't released if the same actors will star in the new show. The original cast includes lesbian couple Julianne Moore and Annette Bening, their children Mia Wasikowska and Josh Hutcherson and the sperm daddy Mark Ruffalo. I think this has the potential to be a great show but I'm fairly certain I will be yelling at the television when the story line turns the way I don't want it to go.

Harvard Comes Out
